Work by session, not only by paper. From January 2027 each FLK is sat as two sessions of 85 questions, and each session covers a fixed group of subjects. Which SQE1 specification does the checklist follow?
The SQE1 Assessment Specification and Functioning Legal Knowledge applicable for assessments from 1 September 2026 (updated August 2026), which governs every 2027 sitting. The SRA may update its specification, so always check sqe.sra.org.uk for the current version.
Why is the checklist organised by session?
From January 2027 each FLK is sat as two sessions of 85 questions, and each session covers a fixed set of subjects. Revising by session matches the way you will sit the exam.
Where are Ethics and Solicitors Accounts in the checklist?
Ethics and Professional Conduct has its own block because it can appear in any session. Solicitors Accounts is tested in both FLK2 sessions, in the context of wills in session 1 and property in session 2, so it is marked for both.
