SQE assessment specification
Assessment Specifications:
- Current assessment specifications (applicable to assessments from 1 September 2025) can be found. You can learn more about the SQE1 and SQE2 assessments, including their construction and the topics you will be tested on.
- The SQE1 assessment specification can be accessed for more detailed information.
- The SQE2 assessment specification is available for further understanding of the assessment structure.
- Assessment specifications from September 2023 have been published. These updated specifications include the Functioning Legal Knowledge (FLK) for SQE1 and SQE2. The updated FLK will be applicable to SQE assessments starting from 1 September 2023, beginning with the SQE2 assessment in October 2023.
SQE Sample Questions:
- Sample questions for SQE1 are provided in English, allowing you to experience the format and content of the assessment. Welsh sample questions for SQE1 will be available in the future.SQE1 sample questions
- Reviewing sample oral and written questions for SQE2 can help improve your understanding of the assessment structure.
- You can also access the Pearson VUE assessment platform to familiarise yourself with its functionality, including the layout of assessment questions for SQE.
