Ready, session by session

From January 2027 you sit each FLK as two sessions with a fixed group of subjects, so check readiness the same way. Count your Learnt lines from the SQE1 Specification Checklist, rate yourself from 1 (shaky) to 5 (solid), and tick the last box only when the subject is at 4 or above.

Ready under exam conditions

Knowing the law is half of it. These gates check that you can use it at 108 seconds a question, for two sessions in a row. Single best answer: five options, one mark each, no negative marking, so never leave a question blank.

The day itself

Two sessions, one break, no surprises. These are the key SQE test-centre rules, summarised from the SQE website.

Into the room

The two sessions

If something goes wrong on the day

Raise your hand at once for any problem with the test itself; report illness before you leave the test centre. Either way, ask for a case reference number. Reporting it is not a claim: submit a mitigating circumstances claim in your SQE account by 16:00 UK time on the fifth working day after that FLK, with your evidence (for illness, a medical certificate). If you fail and the claim is accepted, the attempt is discounted and the fee refunded (in full for an administrative error or bias, 75% for illness or personal circumstances); it never raises your marks.

Results day and what comes next

Results for the January 2027 sitting are due on Tuesday 9 March 2027, in your SQE account only. You must complete the SRA鈥檚 training provider survey, which opens about four weeks before, to see them.

Then test your pace under real conditions. One full-length FLK1 mock and one full-length FLK2 mock in the January 2027 format, each two 85-question sessions with the 60-minute break, are free when you register. No card required. They do not include Ethics or Solicitors Accounts questions, so use the SRA鈥檚 sample questions for those.
