Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Senior Paralegal.

Overview: MLA Interim seeks a Senior Paralegal to work with our client’s dynamic legal team on an interim basis. Candidates should have experience coordinating class action litigation, assisting with government investigations and tracking applicable insurance claims. A successful candidate will be knowledgeable in cybersecurity, data breaches, privacy and other compliance matters. A can-do attitude and willingness to take on new assignments are required. We are looking for a well-organized person with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Support legal team in multiple class action litigations and government/regulatory investigations
  • Work with the legal team to help manage the investigations: collect & preserve evidence, organize records and information, work internally to ensure all information is accurate.
  • Review incoming litigation, coordinate investigation activity and claims, create and update matters in our case management system, assist with case-related communications and invoice/payments, maintain the litigation calendar, and other administrative tasks.
  • Help submit responses to requests for information from government agencies, as well as track and manage applicable insurance issues while working with internal business teams and external advisors on insurance coverage
  • Assist with claims and use established procedures and best practices to streamline legal oversight of all claims, charges, lawsuits, and other matters.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with the legal hold software vendor.
  • Manage discovery, subpoena, and other information requests, including the collection, processing, review, and production of both electronically stored information (ESI) and tangible information
  • Work with vendor e-discovery teams and outside counsel.
  • Assist with vendor management, enhancing processes to engage counsel, and analyzing financial metrics to reduce outside counsel and in-house spend.
  • Help prepare quarterly Board reports and other meeting presentations, as needed.
  • Serve as point person for the Finance accrual and reserves process.
Qualifications Include:
  • Associate degree/certificate in Paralegal within an In-house environment is required
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in handling a broad range of litigation is required; experience with government investigations is preferred
  • Working knowledge in cybersecurity litigation, cybersecurity regulations and policies, post-crisis management of data breaches and/or investigations
  • Knowledge of electronic case management, e-discovery, legal hold and other systems
  • Excellent organization skills and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and work with internal clients at all levels in the organization, outside counsel, vendors, and others associated with litigation, investigation and insurance matters
  • A positive can-do attitude and a genuine desire to be a team player willing to assist with other assignments, projects, cases, and matters
