About the role

Tozers LLP is a leading firm of solicitors with offices in Exeter, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot offering an extensive legal service to businesses and individuals both locally and nationally. We are recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK legal directories in a number of fields.

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Paralegal to join a specialist litigation team which has a leading presence in an industry sector.
What you’ll be doing
Your standard responsibilities will include opening, closing and archiving client files, using the firm’s IT systems and packages, proof reading and updating dictated work, dealing with emailed or telephone client enquiries, document production, case management and assisting lawyers generally.

As well as supporting our team of lawyers, particularly those working in commercial dispute resolution, there will be opportunities:

1. To develop your skills as a trusted legal adviser helping business clients with their day-to-day legal problems. Our clients range from large businesses with professional management teams to small owner-managed businesses.
2. In collaboration with colleagues
a. To represent clients in court and property tribunal work.
b. To gain experience in business development.

Our team works flexibly but we encourage everyone who can to work together in the office for two days of the week, on a Monday and Wednesday, to promote collaboration, support and team building. We are happy to discuss other flexible working arrangements.
What we’re looking for

Experience in a legal role, particularly commercial dispute resolution, will be an advantage but is not necessary. We do expect you to have a degree, and ambitions to develop your legal skills in a leading team.

What you’ll have

You will be very well organised and will enjoy organising others. You will need to be a team player, diligent and an effective communicator ensuring that all clients have the information they need. You will have a ‘can-do’ attitude, will be happy to adapt to the requirements of the tasks facing you, paying attention to detail in all that you do. In addition, it will be beneficial if you are able to demonstrate your ability to work individually as well as closely with team members with the aim of achieving a common goal.

What we have

We believe that our people are our most important asset, and are committed to supporting our teams, cultivating a healthy culture of challenge and expectation with support and care. We invest in our teams and our infrastructure to ensure that we attract and retain talented staff, and are committed to giving all colleagues the opportunity to reach their full potential, with a real focus on training and development.

Our values; high quality work, healthy growth and happy teams are at the heart of everything we do. Find out more about our vision and values, commitment to colleague wellbeing, and colleague benefits on our website.

Will this role count as your QWE, and who will confirm it?
