Choosing an SQE course: common questions
What is the best SQE prep course?
There is no single best SQE course. The right one depends on your budget, how you like to learn and how much help you want from a person. For each need below we list the lowest-priced options from the main SQE providers, one per provider, using the price and description on each provider's own page, checked on 3 October 2026.
What is the best SQE course with a mentor?
The lowest-priced options with a designated mentor are FQPS Academy (SQE1 Revision), Law Training Centre (SQE1 Prep: Exam-Track), BPP University Law School (SQE 1 and 2 Diploma). Check how much mentor time each one includes.
What is the best value for SQE2 mocks marked by a solicitor?
FQPS Academy's SQE2 Preparation plan works out at £31.50 a live 1:1 mock marked by a solicitor, if you use all 6 a month. The next lowest we found: QLTS School at £150 and Law Training Centre at £165.
How do I choose an SQE course?
Work out the total cost over the months you will study, count the full-length mocks you get, check whether a person gives you feedback, read the cancellation and refund terms, and ask who writes and reviews the questions.
Try the exam format before you choose
Whichever course you pick, sit a full-length mock first. FQPS Academy gives one full FLK1 and one full FLK2 mock in the January 2027 format, free with an account and no card.
