You will join a multi-award-winning company, with over 800 talented people committed to delivering great customer experiences driven by the Onecom Way; Think Kaizen, Be Respectful, Build Relationships, Make it Happen, Work Smart, Be Amazing.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join Onecom on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide parental leave cover. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of business activities, supporting revenue generation while managing legal and commercial risk.

Working as part of a small, collaborative legal team, you will act as a trusted business partner to stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Procurement, Product, and Finance. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded legal professional who enjoys operating autonomously and building strong relationships across a fast-paced organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts including MSAs, supplier agreements, partner agreements, SaaS licences, SOWs, and NDAs.

  • Managing contracts through approval, execution, and filing processes.

  • Maintaining and updating Onecom's standard contractual templates, terms, and legal guidance.

  • Acting as the first point of contact for day-to-day legal queries across the business.

  • Providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice that enables business growth while protecting Onecom's interests.

  • Supporting the management and resolution of customer, supplier, and commercial disputes.

  • Drafting pre-action correspondence and helping develop commercially sensible dispute resolution strategies.

  • Advising on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, brand protection, licensing, and ownership rights.

  • Ensuring appropriate intellectual property provisions are incorporated into commercial agreements.

  • Supporting company secretarial and corporate governance activities, including board minutes, resolutions, statutory registers, and Companies House filings.

  • Assisting the General Counsel with corporate projects, transactions, and restructuring initiatives.

  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments impacting the telecommunications, technology, and digital services sectors.

  • Providing guidance to the business on upcoming legal and regulatory changes.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX), or equivalent legal qualification.

  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial law.

  • Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

  • Strong knowledge of English contract law, including indemnities, warranties, liability provisions, and termination rights.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in clear, practical language.

  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

Our Dream Candidate Will Also Have

  • Experience across technology, telecommunications, managed services, cloud, SaaS, or digital infrastructure sectors.

  • In-house legal team experience.

  • Intellectual property management, including trademarks and copyright matters.

  • Handling pre-action disputes and commercial litigation support.

  • Company secretarial and corporate governance activities.

  • Managing external legal counsel and budgets.

  • Microsoft Office applications, document comparison tools, e-signature platforms, and legal matter management systems.
