  • Do the best work of your career
  • Work with positive people in a collaborative culture
  • Be part of building the global agency of the future

About the role

Sounds good right? Ok, let's move onto some more info about the role. First, the basics:

We are looking to take on one Trainee Solicitor to join our growing legal team (currently a team of 3). As a Trainee Solicitor you'll get an opportunity to train and work across all aspects of legal matters in a high-growth, international business and dynamic setting.

You will assist in all legal matters across our entire business (such as influencer marketing campaigns, all things digital marketing, M&A activity, trademark protection, client contracts, contracting process).

What You Do:

You will be an integral part of the legal team, including our new business process and help facilitate new client wins globally. As well as assisting on specific transactions, you'll play an important role in ensuring the team has the correct legal infrastructure (standard documents and know- how) to operate at scale internationally. You'll also play an important role on the commercial aspects of acquisitions, helping with the legal aspects of integration.

We will support you during your training contract and provide ample opportunity for learning and development, both on the job and in a more structured setting through training sessions (working in partnership with law firms). You will get a broad range of legal experience across commercial, corporate, data and IP.

  • Support our new business and commercial teams on client contracting, including updating our standard form agreements and processes.
  • Help us keep our clients happy and enable us to sign contracts quickly by taking sensible and pragmatic negotiation positions.
  • Contribute to the iteration and enhancement of internal playbooks to help guide the business when reviewing legal agreements.

Brand management

  • Play an active role in helping with our brand and trademark portfolio, working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel.

M&A and Corporate

  • Supporting deals, including post-completion integration items.

Help us build our legal function.

  • We are a relatively small team in a fast-paced and growing global business, so we need to constantly re-think how we do things. We are therefore looking for someone to help us iterate and improve our legal processes over time to ensure we can empower the business to move quickly whilst managing risk. You will have the opportunity to help build the foundations of the team end to end.

Who You Are:

  • Minimum requirement: You must have already completed your LLM Legal Practice Course (SQE 1&2) and the relevant exams or equivalent and be eligible to qualify as a solicitor once you have completed your two years' qualifying work experience.
  • You will ideally have prior work experience (minimum six months) preferably carrying out legal work (for example, as a paralegal).

What Particular Set of Skills Would Suit This Role?

  • A proactive and solutions-oriented individual
  • Passionate about law and its intersection with the digital world
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience or familiarity with corporate law, contract law, and intellectual property law
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex legal jargon into plain English

How You Succeed:

  • You will be a motivated, independent thinker who has a relentless focus on how to get things done efficiently.
  • You will have an appetite to learn and develop in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • You will build highly effective relationships, contribute to our team, and deliver top-notch legal service for our organisation.
  • Timely and flawless delivery - Deliver assigned tasks on time by following the defined best practices and QA processes to ensure consistency.

Brainlabs is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace: we are committed to equal opportunity for all applicants and employees regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion, or belief, and marriage and civil partnerships. If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation during the application process, please let us know!
