Job Description

You will support the Legal Counsel Trading team in achieving our organisational goals.


The majority of work undertaken will be qualifying work experience (QWE) for the SQE assessment and the Legal Counsel (Trading) can support the Paralegal /(Graduate) Solicitor Apprentice (Trading) in achieving SRA objectives towards qualification as a solicitor.

How will I spend my time in this role?

  • Proactively deal with all legal enquiries;
  • Work with Legal Counsel on any disputes that arise;
  • Assist the Trading Team with accessing new trading platforms whilst understanding and communicating the legal risk;
  • Interfacing with Risk and Regulatory Compliance Functions within the wider business to ensure that company policies and standards are maintained;
  • Feedback and implement best practice;
  • Assist with ensuring compliance of the Trading Team all regulations;
  • Assist in developing and implementing company policies for the best practice in externalising legal resource;
  • Oversee the out-sourcing of legal matters to law firms in a timely and cost-efficient way;

What skills/experience do I need to be successful?

  • Previous contract management or paralegal experience;
  • Energy experience an advantage.
