If you have additional work experience and/or other qualifications over and above your England and Wales legal qualification, you can apply for an SQE2 individual exemption.

To do this, you will need to:

• provide evidence of your professional qualification, eg an admission certificate or a certificate of good standing
• complete section 8 of the application and provide specific examples from your professional experience of tasks and activities that show how you have achieved each of the skills. This must be supported by redacted samples of work that are corroborated by detailed references from supervisors
• provide proof of your referee(s) professional qualification, eg an admission certificate or a certificate of good standing
• provide evidence that you have at least two years' legal work experience (this can include work experience that was completed as part of your qualification).
