We also represent family members, carers and other people interested in a vulnerable adult’s welfare.

Main duties & responsibilities

The role will fast-paced, varied and will involve supporting and assisting fee earners within the department with all aspects of case preparation including: drafting Legal Aid applications, drafting wide range of documents i.e. court orders and witness statements, legal research, processing evidence, preparing, collating and ordering documentation, attending on clients, attending case conferences and court hearings, dealing with new enquires, attending ongoing training to keep up to date with relevant legal developments, preparation of court bundles and other administrative tasks.

Training and close supervision would be provided by senior fee earners within team.

Skills & Experience

The right candidate will have excellent oral and written communication and inter-personal skills and the ability to empathise with vulnerable clients. In addition, they will be proactive, have strong organisational skills, and the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise in order to meet time recording and billing targets. Good IT skills are also a requirement.

Successful completion of BVC/LPC/SQE and previous paralegal experience are not required but highly desirable.
