This is an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to support new business initiatives.
International Consumer Banking (ICB) is a newly formed division, housing the firm’s consumer retail operation outside of the U.S. Built from scratch with support from across the firm, Chase is now offering consumers in the United Kingdom a new choice in digital banking.
The Legal department’s purpose is to serve as exceptional trusted advisors to the firm today and in the future. Our department is responsible for managing the firm’s exposure to legal risk and providing legal advice to the lines of businesses, corporate functions and leadership.
As a Paralegal – Associate in ICB Legal team you will work in partnership with the business and other lawyers to support the development of Chase and the delivery of the business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Provide legal analysis on the development of new retail banking products
- Monitor regulatory developments, including consultation papers
- Draft and review documents, including communications with respect to complaints, disputes, litigation, etc.
- Perform legal research on a variety of issues relating to retail matters
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Law degree
- Paralegal experience with a law firm or equivalent experience with an in-house legal department
- Team player with ability work with colleagues in a collaborative manner, as well as being able to proactively progress multiple tasks independently
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of UK retail matters and litigation matters
- Experience with legal analysis of product development
- Experience with liaising with regulatory bodies, such as FCA, ICO, etc.
