Why Rolls-Royce?

At Rolls-Royce, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal/Lease Contracts Executive within Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance.

This is an important role in drafting contracts and mentoring the closing of transactions for a supporting aircraft engine leasing business including its third-party asset guidance business. Your role is extremely diverse and requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and to prioritise workload, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with customers worldwide. Accuracy and a meticulous eye for detail are essential.

Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance (“RRPF”) is the world’s largest leasing business for Rolls-Royce aircraft engines. We support over 50 customers worldwide, specialising in long-term lease finance solutions.

Aether manages assets on behalf of third-party owners, enabling the efficient leasing and return of civil aircraft engines to airlines around the world, mainly on short term leases.

You will be mainly supporting the new Aether team, whose primary goals are to deliver services within agreed timeframes, improve the turn-around-time between leases, maintain the asset value of engines under mentorship and minimise risk for all asset owners.

The size and structure of the RRPF organization means that you will work alongside and communicate with senior team members daily. The Aether team is largely based in Derby but with key commercial functions based in London.

Work with us and we’ll welcome you into an inclusive culture, one that invests in your continuous learning and development, and gives you access to a wide breadth and depth of experience.

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and remarkable benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. So we encourage flexible working arrangements and support hybrid working wherever possible, so you can always be at your best - wherever and whenever you work.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for drafting specific lease contract documents needed to support engine deliveries in accordance with approved templates and will be accountable for the accuracy and completeness of such documents.
  • Responsible for preparing closing agenda (as needed), ensuring that the required customer documents, such as KYC or insurance certificates satisfy internal and/or third-party guide standards and identifying any commercial risks or gaps.
  • Responsible for ensuring all post-closing contractual actions and administration such as filings and security creation/release are completed, including the creation of records on IT system, filing of contracts.
  • Responsible for ensuring customer insurance certificate renewals are completed as needed.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of commercial templates, tools and guides as needed to support delivery and redelivery, subject to approvals by third party asset owners and/or the third part asset owner’s Legal Counsel.

What we’re looking for:

Being a part of Rolls-Royce you’ll know we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. These values form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to work contending priorities and prioritise workloads to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, diplomacy, communication, influencing and negotiations skills.
  • Ability to understand business problems and propose solutions with customer focus.
  • Desirable: experience of drafting, negotiating, and administering aircraft engine or other aviation asset leases.
  • Desirable: a degree or equivalent qualification in Law or a related subject.

We are an equal opportunities employer. We’re committed to developing a diverse team and an inclusive working environment. We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives. And the more perspectives we have, the more successful we’ll be. By building a culture of respect and appreciation, we give everyone who works here the opportunity to realise their full potential.
